ABSTRACT
This study mainly focuses on identifying the factors of juvenile delinquency, the crimes committed, and the diversions practiced by the youth offenders at Bahay Pag-Asa, Cauayan City, Isabela. The study is comprised of five chapters namely: Chapter 1- Introduction; Chapter II- Review of Related Literature; Chapter III- Methodology; Chapter IV- Result and Discussion; Chapter V- Summary.
Chapter I visualized the objective of this study. Chapter II enumerated several related literature and studies conducted in connection with this study which was later used also in order to support the findings as discussed in Chapter IV. Chapter III stated the methodology used in gathering data and analyzing such in order to come up with the results which will be found in Chapter IV. The study is a quantitative research that used a survey questionnaire to gather the data. The gathered data were interpreted and analyzed by the researcher. The result of the data gathered was discussed in Chapter IV. Chapter IV showed the results, discussion, and analysis of the data gathered to answer and respond to the objectives as visualized in Chapter I. This Chapter critically analyzed the data gathered using methods as stated in Chapter III. Lastly, Chapter V presents the summary and conclusion derived from the findings in Chapter IV. The environment as a factor of the juvenile delinquent act has the highest effect on the youth offenders, being the family as the second among the three stated possible factors and the school has the least effect on the delinquent acts of the children in conflict with the law. The crime observed to have the highest frequency is Rape and R.A. 9165. Second, on the list are robbery and murder. The third is homicide. Fourth is Theft, Illegal possession of firearms, and Ammunition. None children in conflict with the law who are currently confined in Bahay Pag-Asa had committed Parricide, Infanticide, Kidnapping, Destructive Arson, and Carnapping. The diversions that all of them practiced are Bible study, praying, playing games, drawing, listening to music, reading books, reading the Bible and cleaning the room, singing/playing guitar, and writing a letter to their parents or friends outside to cope up with their loneliness in Bahay Pag-Asa. Moreover, Chapter V also contains the recommendations as recommended by the researcher brought upon by the activities encountered throughout the whole process of the preparation and accomplishment of this study.
