The study aimed to examine the struggle of OFW children. The goal is to determine the circumstances encountered by OFW children, their coping mechanisms and the positive and negative effects brought by parental migration to the children of OFW. The research was conducted at Isabela State University Cauayan City Campus. Qualitative research techniques were used to collect data. In order to know the struggle of OFW children the researcher used a semi-structured interview guide with an in-depth interview with the respondents. As a result, the struggle of OFW children is identified and analyzed. The researcher found out that the OFW children’s encountered different problems and they can cope with these with the help of their guardians and friends. Moreover, the coping mechanisms vary per respondent and it also found that parental migration made them independent, more responsible and more mature individuals, as they realize how much their parents sacrificed to give them a better life standing. The research has important practical implications for government institutions, educational institutions and future researchers of related topics.
