Abstract
The purpose of this research was focused on the sociolinguistic Analysis of the usage of language in the linguistic landscape of Centro Cauayan City Isabela.
Qualitative descriptive design was obtained to thoroughly analyze the usage of languages, the functions, bilingual or translated text, and authorship of signage. Photos of all the present signage in the area were the gathered data of this study.
This study concludes that the usage of language in the linguistic landscape of Cauayan City does not merely depend on the language policy. The usage of language is also based according to the function of the signs and the intended sign-readers. Considering that the sample area is one of the trade centers of the city, the linguistic landscape of the city reflects its centrality features through the observable formal usage of language in most of the signs.
